Welcome to the site of the research project, Climate Adaptation of Democracy: Climate impacts on environmental and democratic attitudes. CAD investigates the impacts of adverse climate events on democracy by addressing the research question: How do adverse local climate events affect citizens’ attitudes towards democracy and the green transition, and what strategies for communication can help create effects that are environmentally and democratically sustainable?

The CAD project is based at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen. It is funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark and led by Professor Kasper M. Hansen together with Postdoc Søren Damsbo-Svendsen and Senior Researcher Morten A. Dahl Larsen from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI).
